The ASFS addressable-switch firing system enhances the safety of selective perforating operations. The system’s series of microprocessor switches is attached to each initiator of the selective gun system. Each addressable switch has its own unique address to individually identify the associated explosive device. This configuration enables checking all circuits, gun wiring, and connections both at surface with a test box and while running in hole to ensure integrity.

Additional functionality provided by the ASFS system includes positive shot indication and skip-over capabilities. Up to 40 perforating guns can be run in a single descent to efficiently perforate long intervals or multiple stages.
