Tannathin
From $5.28

Tannathin oxidized lignite is a naturally occuring, partially soluable additive used to reduce fluid loss and deflocculate water-base fluids. Tannathin is uniquely designed to also improve filter cake characteristics by creating a thin, low permeable cake on the wellbore. This multifunctional product is also used as a secondary deflocculant and works synergistically with lignosulfonates in dispersed fluid systems. This product is effective in all water-based fluids and works exceptionally well in high-temperature environments. Due to its low pH, this product yields more effective in alkaline systems pH between 9 to 11 requiring additions of caustic soda or alternative alkaline material.
